WHO WE ARE, WHAT WE DO, AND WHY WE MATTER
Women’s Brain Health Initiative (WBHI) is the only organization solely dedicated to protecting the brain health of women. We achieve this by focusing our efforts on funding gender-based, brain-aging disease research that better meets the needs of women, and by providing you with the best evidence-based methods of safeguarding your cognitive vitality.
WBHI has a 2-pronged mission: funding research and creating education programs to combat brain-aging diseases that affect women. We are unique in that we are proactive to disease, and have become a trusted resource for people to make informed decisions about the best ways to protect their brain health as they age.
We have successfully moved the research needle for women, through direct funding, and by fervently advocating for scientists to deliberately account for sex and gender in their studies. And through our preventative health education programs, we have advanced the public’s understanding of brain health and the modifiable lifestyle choices that can significantly improve their cognitive health outcomes. It is thanks to the generous support of our donors, partners, sponsors, board, staff and volunteers that we are able to accomplish so much.
