Dr. Bal Pawa

Integrative Physician, Co-Founder, Westcoast Women's Clinic, Author, and WBHI Ambassador

Dr. Bal Pawa is a physician, women's health expert, educator, and bestselling author with more than three decades of clinical experience. Co-founder of Westcoast Women's Clinic, she has focused her practice on hormonal health, perimenopause and menopause, and the interconnected factors shaping women's health and healthy aging. A Clinical Instructor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia for over 20 years, she combines conventional medicine with functional and mind-body medicine training from Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Pawa's work examines how hormonal transitions, chronic stress, sleep, cardiovascular and metabolic health, inflammation, and mood affect cognition, with particular attention to modifiable risk factors that can protect brain health earlier in life. She is the bestselling author of The Mind-Body Cure, published internationally, and has completed a second book, Nourish Cooks: Reclaiming the Kitchen, on food as medicine. She is currently writing a third book on women's health across the lifespan.
