Nora Spinks
CEO, Work-Life Harmony Enterprises, Caregiving and Work Expert, Former Chair of the National Seniors Council
Nora Spinks is the CEO of Work-Life Harmony Enterprises, an international research and consulting firm dedicated to individual, family, and community well-being. A family policy expert, she served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Vanier Institute of the Family for ten years (2011 to 2021). She was appointed by the federal Ministers of Health and Seniors in 2018 and chaired the National Seniors Council from 2022 to 2024. Nora led the WBHI team that developed the BrainFit Habit Tracker mobile application.
Engaging the research community and data users to mobilize knowledge, Nora is committed to promoting well-being across individuals, families, and communities. She has been instrumental in national projects such as Caregiving and Work and the Military and Veteran Leadership Circle. Nora has facilitated numerous roundtables on seniors and aging, older workers, family care leaves, and work-life balance.
A recognized thought leader and innovator, Nora has developed federal, provincial, community, and workplace policies and programs focused on employee health and wellness, workplace flexibility, family caregiving, and work-life harmony. She is also known for her role as a convenor, trainer, and facilitator, having delivered hundreds of lectures, presentations, and workshops in workplaces, conferences, and community settings across Canada and globally.
Nora Spinks has received numerous awards recognizing her leadership and impact on the quality of life in Canada, both from her peers and the Government of Canada.
