Stephen Ng
Director, Consumer Health Strategy & Planning at TELUS
Stephen is a Director with TELUS Health, driving the development, build and implementation of strategies to enhance the potential of consumer health solutions to generate positive health outcomes for Canadians, and help TELUS achieve their top corporate priority of putting customers first. Prior to this role, he was a management consultant at the Deloitte Consulting practice in Toronto, specializing in the provision of business advisory services to public sector clients, but also having extensive experience working within the financial services, education, consumer retail and broadcasting industries.
Stephen graduated from the MBA program (with Distinction) from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, supported by a prestigious 2-year scholarship, specializing in Strategy and Organizational Behaviour. He also holds both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from the University of British Columbia, focusing on fundamental C-H bond activation research of interest to the petrochemical industry. As a result, Stephen is published twice in one of the most highly regarded globally peer-reviewed chemistry journals.
Prior to moving to Toronto to pursue an MBA, Stephen worked at UBC as a Student Development Officer, leading programs and teams to help develop student leaders, and direct the institution's orientation and transition efforts, and also as an Academic Advisor for the Faculty of Science.
Outside of work and social pursuits, Stephen is engaged in volunteering as a Board Director with the Canadian Cancer Society, focusing efforts on reducing cancer incidence and mortality rates and enhancing the quality of life for Canadians living with and beyond cancer. He previously served as a Board Director with the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario.
Previous volunteering efforts have been focused on the Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers of Vancouver and the Greater Vancouver Regional Science Fairs.
